There are a lot of things that qualify as art that perplexes my mind these days. Kazimir Malevich, Barnett Newman, and other artists come to mind. I can usually appreciate the paintings, but when it comes to showing off an iPad in a Chinese Museum, I’m just left confused.

The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing has begun displaying an iPad, as well as a white uniform, badges, and contracts from a Foxconn employee, who worked undercover to create the piece.

The New Yorker has a great article up on the piece, and we recommend heading over there to give it a read. It’s written in a Q & A fashion with the “artist,” and highlights some interesting insights from someone who worked in a Foxconn factory.

We recommend giving the article a read.
