I spent some time in Sweden over the weekend hang out with colleagues and one of the places I went was just off the ocean. I walked down to the water front the scene was breathtaking and so serene. Although I had my Nikon D7000 in the back of the car, I just didn’t feel like walking back up the hill to get it. I pulled out my iPhone, fired up the True HDR App and captured the scene. Although I’ve had this App on my iPhone 4s for a while now, I hadn’t really used it much. I was blown away by not only the ease of use, but also by the results!

HDR hand held and with an iPhone it’s impossible to hold it perfectly still for three shots. Therefore there will be some position shifting between the three exposures. Not only did True HDR merge them together, but it also automatically corrected for the overlap. I eventually transfered the image to my computer just so that I could zoom in on it in Photoshop and check the detail and it was very sharp!

You have the option of having the process fully automated in that it snaps the three exposures for you and then you merge them together as one High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo right inside the App. Or you can capture the shots manually. Once the HDR has been merged you can then use the built-in sliders to adjust the results to your taste. I know that HDR is not for everyone. Some people love it, some people despise it. I view HDR as something that is fine to use on occasion and have no real problem with it. This is by far the best HDR App I’ve seen on iOS.
I don’t really have anything that I would like added or fixed in the App. This is one of those rare occasions where I can easily grant this one a 5 star rating!

Ever since Apple launched iPhone 4S, some users have complained about poor battery life.
Apple released iOS 5.0.1, which included bugs fixes that affected battery life, but iPhone 4S users still complained that it didn’t fix the issue in their case and in some cases users (not just iPhone 4S users) complained that they started observing the issue only after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1.

While Apple’s intelligent voice assistant – Siri – is great at doing most things users throw at it, (including finding places nearby in relation to your current location), those outside the U.S may have been a little disappointed to discover that this location-based search functionality had been reserved for those living in the U.S.

In an attempt to rectify this fact and unlock Siri’s location search potential for all those international folk out there, developer Zaid Elkurdi over this past weekend released ‘International Locations for Siri

Anyone that travels regularly by air is probably already using However, now you can have the great benefits of this free service right on your iPhone. SeatGuru allows you to search for your flights and then see seat maps with color coded advice on which seats are good, which ones are bad, which ones have power, etc. If you see green then you know you’ve got a good seat. However, if you see red, then you should probably select a different seat as soon as possible. This App also allows you to search for and book flights as well as check the flight status of flights for

The App works well. It can utilize your location to search for airports near you as this will speed up your search criteria input. I also like to see which flights have on board WiFi. While we’re at it, how about meal service menus, snacks and prices. In other words the more info we could have before heading to the airport the better. I wish that it was a Universal App taking advantage of iPad as well.
You can get SeatGuru for iPhone or iPod touch for Free here from the

iLounge reports that based on their testing, they have found that not all iPad 2 cases work with new iPad, contrary to earlier reports.
